Halloween Is So, So Awesome

I've been looking around for costume ideas for several friends, as well as my girlfriend. She got a couple of lame ones from the internet where it's just a bag with a bunch of ill-fitting components meant to look like a popular figure or character. I think the way you make a good costume is by using as much of your own stuff as possible (I once dressed as Neo without buying even one thing), and buying the crazy stuff that you might not have owned, like say, a patent leather yellow jacket when you're dressing as "Live at Wembley Freddie Mercury," or a clear rain jacket for Pat Bateman.

Well, I thought that "Michelle Jackson" would be a good costume and I started poking around Google. This is what I found.

She's not going to buy one of these, but it did give me some ideas. This is gonna be one sweet costume.

So, so awesome. And it's less than three months away! I have many ideas, as usual, and this year, one of them was Voltron. That is, until I looked up Voltron costumes and stumbled upon this -

Boo-hoo! Ja mon!

Halloween arrives in only 17 days! No doubt, 85% of people will go as pirates, but of the remaining 15%, at least 8 will go as MJ. How do I come up with these figures? I love Halloween and I have a gift for it.

If you decide to go as the King of Pop, please go to this site and do it right. You can get an exact replica of his sequined glove for a mere $550. Believe me, it doesn't work if you buy a cotton glove and try to glue sequins and glitter on it. I did that in 2001 and I am still ashamed that I did not execute better. I wish I had a photo of that costume handy, but I'm fairly certain I have one in storage.

Anyway, here's the site. It's awesome, but it might be a total scam, so be careful. Any time I'm ordering from somewhere that seems kind of sketchy, I'll type in "_____ scam" or "_____ problems" and see if something comes up in a search.

I See a Little Silhouetto of a Man

This is so awesome. I was considering "Live at Wembley" Freddie Mercury for my own Halloween costume this year. Where does one find a yellow jacket like this? Probably easier for a celebrity like Katy Perry.
